Conclusion: What This Means for Democracy

Public discussions in media reflect democracy in general. I conclude that, as a democratic space, public discussion can never be fully controlled by anyone, and thus it contains its own risks and potential. While media-based public discussion remains a place of informal learning, both public discussion and democracy can destroy themselves from the inside if we are not aware of this risk. Therefore, in the end, instead of having a clear picture of how to solve the problems of public discussion in media, we encounter a new, more educated aporia. There is no definite cure to the problems of media-based public discussions, and even the problems and the views about them may change.
