  • María de la Paz Ramos-Lara

摘要

The Latin American Society for the History of Science and Technology (LASHST) was founded in 1982. For over two decades, LASHST provided a fundamental platform for historians of science and technology to come together, share their knowledge, and work towards a common goal. The society was led by distinguished individuals such as Juan José Saldaña from Mexico, Ubiratan D’Ambrosio from Brazil, Luis Carlos Arboleda from Colombia, Silvia Fernanda de Mendonça Figueirôa from Brazil, and Carlos D. Galles from Argentina. This chapter features an interview with Silvia Figueirôa, the only female president of LASHST who served from 1995 to 1998. She organized the V Latin American Congress on the History of Science and Technology (LACHST) in 1988. She is currently leading the field of history of geosciences in Brazil and Latin America.
