摘要

The purpose of this text is, in the first place, to analyze the influence of Dr. Juan José Saldaña in the process of building a scientific community in the field of the Social History of Sciences and Technologies in Colombia, and the transition toward Social Studies of Sciences, Technologies and Professions, including Medicine and Public Health. At the second stage, it goes beyond Saldaña’s contribution but always takes as a basis the orientations proposed by him. This analysis not only includes the historical understanding of the processes of construction of knowledge and scientific practices, but also of that of construction of new institutional forms of professional practice and their articulation with the undergraduate and graduate curricula of some universities, and their relations with the State and Civil Society.
