Stephanie Louise Kwolek, inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1995, was a chemist who made a groundbreaking contribution to material science with her invention of Kevlar® in 1965. Kevlar® is a synthetic fiber renowned for its exceptional strength and lightweight properties, making it five times stronger than steel.
