Analysis: The Behavior of Political Parties in Relation to Ideology
摘要
This chapter explores the complex political environment of Kosovo, the youngest European state, which emerged from the turbulent dissolution of Yugoslavia. By critically examining the three primary political parties—the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and the Self-Determination Movement (LVV)—the chapter seeks to elucidate the distinctive characteristics and transformations of Kosovo’s political system. The analysis encompasses an examination of the national legal frameworks that govern the establishment and operations of political parties, an investigation of the structural organization of these political entities, and an analysis of their ideological underpinnings. In light of recent developments, particularly those occurring after 2023, this chapter identifies the challenges that these parties face in their pursuit of democratic consolidation in Kosovo. These challenges include corruption, organized crime, and a fragile rule of law.
