Building the Planetarium
摘要
Planetaria can come in a variety of designs and sizes, which reflect their unique local environments, purposes and histories. Some are housed in purpose built buildings, sited in large grounds which are used as expansive spaces for imagining the scale of the universe, or to house observational telescopes to allow the public to see “the real thing”. Some are reusing spaces that had a purpose and life before they became a dome, and the design heritage of their past lives continue to influence how they operate today. Others are groundbreaking technological demonstrators, challenging how we think about spaces or even engineering problems, and encouraging new ways to look at the world.
