Understanding, Addressing, and Managing Activities of Daily Living Limitations in Breast Cancer Survivors

The survival rate for breast cancer (BC), the most common type of cancer in women, has increased steadily. However, BC survivors may experience a variety of short-and long-term physical and non-physical difficulties associated with cancer and its treatments. All these difficulties may lead to limitations in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), which have negative effects on independent living and, ultimately, participation, quality of life, and overall health in BC survivors. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the definition, associated factors, assessment tools, and management options of ADLs/IADLs limitations in BC survivors.
