摘要

Cancer continues to be a major worldwide health concern due to its high mortality rate and limited treatment options. The therapeutic choices available to treat cancer are generally characterized by low bioavailability, poor solubility, and non-specificity. Nanosuspension (NS) formulations have emerged as a viable strategy to address these difficulties, offering a number of advantages such as better drug solubility, increased bioavailability, and tailored drug administration. In this review work sincere efforts have been made to provide a comprehensive detail of the application of NS formulations in gastric cancer treatment and to explore their potential to address the shortcomings of conventional formulations. We also cover the anticancer drugs along with their mechanism of action and brand names available for the treatment of gastric cancer approved by Food and Drug Administration and their NS (nanosuspension) formulation case studies. These include polymeric NS, lipid-based NS, and biopolymeric NS. The review also discusses how the reduced particle size of these NS can affect drug performance in treating and targeting gastric cancer. The review concludes that nanosuspension formulations hold great promise in the future of cancer treatment especially gastric cancer treatment therapy, with significant implications for gastric cancer treatment and the potential to offer a promising alternative to conventional dosage form.
