摘要

Dengue is a dangerous mosquito-borne, viral infection caused by the dengue virus. The female mosquitoes of the Aedes genus are the carriers of this virus. Dengue is a neglected tropical disease that can kill many lakhs of people around the world because there are no particular small molecules or specific chemotherapeutics discovered yet. Major symptoms such as high fever, vomiting, headache, body ache, redness of the skin, and head moving happen after 14 to 21 days of the infection. Only symptomatic treatment is given by acetaminophen, ivermectin, doxycycline, zanamivir, eltrombopag, multivitamins, and multiminerals to combat dengue. Early diagnosis followed by treatment is urgent. Yet, the road of success for the specific synthetic drug has not been achieved. To date, only the Dengvaxia vaccine has been developed to protect against dengue. The Mother Nature has a lot of medicine. The Indian traditional medicines such as Azadirachta indica (Neem), Carica papaya (Papaya), Andrographis paniculata (Kalmegh), Euphorbia hirta, Cissampelos pareira (velvet leaf), and animal-sourced goat milk are given to combat the dreadful attack of dengue virus.
