Diagnosing toothaches requires a disciplined approach with particular attention to detail. Ofttimes the chief complaint that prompted the patient to seek help jumps out at us. It is the obtuse diagnosis that does not seem to fit any of the paradigms we have been taught that causes us to lose sleep.
