Progression of Pulp Disease
摘要
Over the years, there have been attempts to adopt a universal nomenclature for pulp pathosis based on histologic findings to clinical symptoms. Unfortunately, the histologic approach did little to explain the cause of the problem prior to extraction and microscopic examination of the remaining contents of the pulp. Grossman’s “Classification of Pulp Disease” reflected the end product of the disease at the time of diagnosis and treatment. There is little attention to the biophysiology of pain. The progression of pulp disease is discussed as to symptoms and etiology. Images are provided to provoke a mental picture of the disease process.
