摘要

Like most PhD students, I set out on a journey of discovery, but my passage was also one of personal self-reflection too. I have lived all my life on a former council housing estate in Knowsley, the third-most deprived area in the UK located in Liverpool, Merseyside. On 7 July 1971, as a 4-year-old, I moved to Cantril Farm (now known as Stockbridge Village), my parents having been included in a deal to relocate 200,000 people to one of six new residential areas on the outskirts of the city centre.
