Parkinson Disease Rehabilitation Routines Described as Robot Instructions for PARKIBIP
摘要
Rehabilitation is paramount to cope with Parkinson’s Disease and interdisciplinary research is called upon to suggest new instruments and methods. PARKIBIP is a wearable device to detect the phases of gait and to give feedback encouragements to the patients in everyday life at home. This prolongs the effect of the physiotherapist in the laboratory. Before it is programmed in PARKIBIP, we have taken a clinical routine referring to the step length, step frequency and gait speed and wrote it in objective terms as a flow chart. Gait phase detection allows to define every step as a starting and end point in space and time. The step length, step frequency and gait speed variables are estimated and analyzed by PARKIBIP in real time, according to the flow chart, and will trigger messages for the patient.
