The environmental and institutional regulation of marine hydrocarbons activities in Brazil, Uruguay and MERCOSUR will be analysed. MERCOSUR regulation is relevant taking into account the transboundary pollution that the activity mas cause. It will be studied whether these regimes demand an update considering the international regulation analysed in previous chapters and the lesson learnt from Deepwater Horizon and Montara accidents.
