Argentine history regarding hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation is studied. The first well in the Argentine sea was drilled in 1969. The current number of marine platforms in the Argentine sea are identified and regulation of the topic in the country is studied. The necessity of enacting a federal basic environmental law on hydrocarbons on land, shale at in the sea is explained. As well as the necessity to enact a federal basic environmental requirement law on integrated sea management.
