The Uprising and Its Aftermath

  • Hermia Morton Anthony

摘要

This chapter summarises the aftermath of the uprising, paying special attention to women’s involvement in the judicial and extra judicial activity and implementation of fluid but effective strategies to counter actions by the police to intimidate the communities into cooperating with their intentions to find and apprehend protestors who were in hiding. The chapter also provides details of women’s outstanding performances as witnesses in court cases, and continued activism post the uprising by withholding childcare and other domestic services to jurors’ families, and boycotting retail stores. They insisted on being recognized for truth-telling in the absence of written documents.
