Lexical Demands Variations Across Subject Areas and Academic Levels
摘要
This chapter presents an inter-topic comparison examining the lexical coverage of diverse materials within distinct disciplines and academic levels. Existing research suggests that lexical coverage can vary depending on the topic, and the CLIL approach promotes a scaffolded learning approach where content is progressively expanded over the levels, and this chapter seeks to confirm these claims. This analysis is organised into three areas: lexical diversity, density and sophistication. The results suggest some variability depending on the content area and academic cycle.
