Profiling the Lexical Demands of CLIL Academic Subject Areas
摘要
This chapter reports the lexicalLexical demands complexity for each of the four academic content areas (Arts & Crafts, Music, Natural Science and Social Science) represented in the corpus. The chapter is structured into four sections, each dedicated to a specific CLILCLIL area. Each section begins with a description of the sub-corpus in terms of tokens, types, word recycling ratio and lexical density. Then, the lexical diversity is examined and reported. The last phase of each section deals with the calculation of the lexical coverage of the sub-corpus. This calculation considers both general and academic vocabulary lists, facilitating a comprehensive picture of the lexical demands within each discipline and allowing the comparison to previous research on L1 content textbooks in other educational contexts.
