Performance of players in any of the games is the key factor which determines the outcome. Cricket World Cup (CWC) is one mega event which takes place once in four years. In this paper, we developed a model to predict the performance of players in final round or in knockouts on the basis of their performance in league matches in CWC. We used the data of CWC 2019 and 2023. The paper presents a two-step analysis – in the first step we perform descriptive analytics on the data to gain insights. In the second step, we built a model to predict the performances of players in knockouts. Multiple regression analysis has been used to predict the performances of players in knockouts. Also, we used hypothesis testing to check whether the performance of players is affected in knockouts when they play more league matches.
