Introduction

This chapter introduces my research on police corruption using a story and outlines the key elements of the book. It describes my police career and the methodology used for the research I conducted to produce my PhD and this book. The main findings of the research are outlined along with a review of the thin blue line phenomenon and why the book refers to a thick blue line.
