Conclusion

The beginning of the 2020s, marked by the shock of the Covid-19 pandemic and the global crisis that accompanied it, is characterized in Cuba, as in many countries of the South in general, and most of those of the Latin America and the Caribbean in particular, by very serious economic difficulties. Among other problems, the inflation rate has accelerated significantly, mirroring what is happening everywhere else in the world. The material living conditions of numerous Cuban households, which are already not usually easy—to put it mildly, that is an understatement—have been made even more complicated. Complicated in obtaining everything they need to fill the plates, repair a broken down household appliance or a damaged vehicle, adapt their home or equip themselves with tools to undertake work there, acquire certain quite basic goods and sometimes basic necessities, etc. So many realities, painful, that foreign vacationers passing through the island only scratch the surface of or even of which they have no idea.
