A Virtual Avatar for Sign Language Signing
摘要
This paper presents an application for Spanish Sign Language (Lengua de Signos Española (LSE)) signing. With that aim, a virtual avatar has been designed keeping in mind the efficiency in terms of time and visualization. So, a literature review of the different methodologies used for creating virtual avatars is carried out by highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Our approach uses traditional 3D animation techniques which are less expensive than motion capture. In addition, a mobile interface to properly interact with the avatar and use it for LSE signing is also presented.
