This chapter elaborates on and improves the paper by Francesco dell’Isola, whose title is “A difficult problem for artificial intelligence: how to assess originality of scientific research and the dangers of apostrophes in family names.”, which appeared in 2014 being deposited in Hal Archives with the number hal-01002678. We believe that some important questions about publication policy and trends are discussed in it. As the behavior of many “believers” in bibliographic indices is very similar to that of some members of some religious sects (and recalls a lot that of the Inquisition) it has been decided to use a very ancient technique for contrasting these people opinions: to use the Juvenal satire style. The opinion of those who believe that the quality of scientific research can be evaluated using few numbers is ridiculed. On the other hand some serious discussions are attempted to attack the problem of finding the most efficient procedure for selecting university professors, by recurring to the theory of games an the basic ideas of modern philosophy of law.
