Pathophysiology and Clinical Aspects of Diastasis Recti

Diastasis recti is a functional pathology characterized by an insufficiency of the linea alba which profoundly alters the function of the abdominal core and which is characterized, among others, by symptoms such as lumbago, stress urinary incontinence, the appearance of hernias of the linea alba, and gastroesophageal reflux. In symptomatic condition in over 95% of patients, symptoms disappear or significantly improve in the majority of patients already 1 month after surgery.
