Robotic Approach to Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump Placement
摘要
Hepatic artery infusion pump (HAIP) can be placed with the robotic platform, which has the advantage of magnified three-dimensional visualization and fine-wristed instruments. The steps of the procedure mirror that of an open HAIP procedure, with the caveat that pump placements that require vascular reconstructions may not be suitable cases except in expert hands. Robotic HAIP can occur with concomitant liver and/or colon resection. Length of stay with a robotic approach is shorter compared to an open approach, which may facilitate start of chemotherapy. Decreased adhesions after minimally invasive surgery can also make future liver surgery easier in cases where HAIP is used for neoadjuvant therapy.
