The use of implantable pumps for the delivery of hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) chemotherapy has been ongoing for several decades. Existing pumps and treatment paradigms continue to have features and attributes that may be improved upon in the future to continue to optimize patient care. In this chapter, we discuss potential areas for improvement in the current HAI pump landscape.
