Theoretically and epistemologically grounded within southern and feminist criminology, this chapter seeks to understand whether women’s movements impacted the development of women’s police stations in Argentina. The study employed a qualitative methodology that combined extensive documentary and bibliographic research with semi-structured interviews with 100 workers from 10 different Comisarías de las Mujer, commonly referred to in English as Women’s Police Stations (WPSs) in Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The chapter discusses the connections between WPS and the women’s movement that emerged during Argentina’s fourth feminist wave. The research suggests that the increased visibility of gendered violence and women’s empowerment influenced both the interventions and recognition of WPS within the police force and the community.

摘要
