Overview of Entity Discovery and Linking Pipeline

Having gained an understanding of datasets, knowledge bases, and evaluation metrics, we are now poised to delve into solutions for Entity Discovery and Linking (EDL). In Chap. 2, we addressed several challenges involved in EDL, such as locating entity mentions, identifying potential entity candidates, and linking these mentions to actual entities. Consequently, EDL is often broken down into smaller, more manageable tasks and approached in a pipeline fashion. Each stage of the pipeline focuses on solving a specific sub-problem within EDL, thereby simplifying the tasks that follow.
