This chapter defines and describes four model primitives that impose structure on the transition probabilities of a QPLEX chain. We exploit this structure to derive an efficient representation of the QPLEX map that overcomes the curse of dimensionality for histograms, thereby establishing the QPLEX calculus for a broad class of QPLEX chains.
