COVID: Upper Respiratory Involvement

Late in December 2019, there was a pneumonia outbreak of unidentified etiology in China. Once researched, the etiologic agent was found to be a novel coronavirus, later named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This disease rapidly spread throughout China within 1 month and continued spreading through all continents. It quickly became a major health concern involving the entire World. On 30 January 2019, the WHO declared the novel coronavirus outbreak as a public health emergency of international concern. The first pediatric COVID-19 case was reported in Shenzhen on January 20, and more cases & case series have been reported ever since.
