Otitis media, an inflammation of the middle ear, and asthma, a chronic respiratory disorder, is among the most common childhood diseases. Pediatric otitis media and asthma are two distinct medical conditions that may have a relationship. In this chapter, the details of pediatric otitis media, the relationship between otitis media and asthma, the potential mechanisms of this relationship, and its clinical implications are discussed.
