Bibliometric Analysis on ChatGPT in Tourism, Hospitality, and Gastronomy: Papers Published in 2023

This bibliometric analysis includes 47 papers on ChatGPT in tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy, published throughout 2023, i.e., shortly after the launch of ChatGPT. To our knowledge, this study is the first one conducting a bibliometric analysis on the given topic. Therefore, this study aims to provide a reference material and cover the existing research gap. Google Scholar and Web of Science databases were used to obtain the necessary data for analysis. Our article approximates the structure of published papers from the point of view of journals, publishers, authors, publishing countries, thematic and methodological focus, and citation response. The most cited papers are found in the thematic categories that are also most frequently represented, i.e., future research agenda, analysis of ChatGPT responses based on specialized input instructions, education field, opinion studies with ChatGPT as an interviewee, and field of informatics and technologies.
