Vulnerability Assessment of Cultural Heritage in Peru

The cultural heritage of a country is a symbol of history and identity. Unfortunately, in Peru and the world, tangible cultural heritage and tourist attractions, have suffered attacks from both locals and foreigners. The methodology employed is Data Analysis, which involves data preparation, spatial analysis, attack classification, and temporal analysis. The objective of this research is to assess the vulnerability of cultural heritage in Peru using the information of citizens’ complaints from the Open Data government platform. The results of the research show spatial information on the most vulnerable places, the evolution of the attacks over six years, and the types of attacks with higher frequency and impact. The study concludes that archaeological cultural heritage sites are the most vulnerable to attacks. The regions of Cusco and Lima are the areas with the highest risk. It also specifies the years with the majority of attacks and suggests using this information for predictive analysis.
