Developing Education: Incorporating Computer Aided Engineering Simulations in Existing Learning Environments

The presented case study is primarily focused on the development of an enhanced Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation as a concept of digital twin. This OS-independent, written in NodeRed, environment has been designed with the aim of enhancing an engaging educational experience for students. By actively participating in the simulation, students not only get familiar with the complex domain of engineering design but also gain a practical understanding of real engineering principles that they can immediately apply. The simulation functions as a crucial intermediary between abstract information and practical implementation, enabling students to cultivate a more profound comprehension of engineering concepts through hands-on education. The integration of a virtual copy signifies a fundamental change, providing unparalleled accuracy. The digital twin in the presented case provides continuous monitoring and analysis of physical systems, enhancing the ability to predict and enabling proactive decision-making.
