Barriers to the Implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) in Peruvian SMEs

This study focuses on the implementation of data analysis technologies in SMEs, exploring the barriers that hinder this process in the Peruvian context. Endogenous and exogenous barriers are identified and classified, addressing aspects such as inadequate technological infra-structure, lack of management support, difficulty in identifying strategic use cases, cultural resistance, and lack of specialized data analysis skills. These barriers are analyzed to the impact on the successful implementation of these technologies, offering a detailed understanding of the challenges faced by Peruvian SMEs in this area and highlighting the need for specific strategies to overcome these limitations. This article provides a comprehensive perspective on the difficulties that Peruvian SMEs face when adopting data analysis technologies, clearly identifying key obstacles and providing a detailed view of endogenous and exogenous barriers. The findings highlight the importance of ad-dressing technological infrastructure, organizational culture, and staff training as essential elements to overcome challenges and move to-wards a successful implementation of these technologies in the context of Peruvian SMEs in the field of electronic commerce.
