Introduction: African Linguistics After #RhodesMustFall
摘要
This chapter provides a background to the study and the broader context in which the survey was conducted. It introduces the motivation behind the work, which was to examine views related to African languages and decolonisation and transformation. It provides a short overview of the #RhodesMustFall movement in South Africa and highlights parallels with a number of related social justice movements such as #RhodesMustFallOxford and Black Lives Matter. The chapter ends with an overview of the book as a whole, foregrounding a number of the key themes that emerge.
