The Role of Others in Accessing Housing

Support from others plays a crucial role in refugees’ settlement and wellbeing. In this chapter, we consider the role of formal and informal support for those who have gained status through the asylum route and resettlement schemes. We recognise the importance of community and social networks, particularly in the context of dispersal. We also acknowledge the crucial roles played by practitioners in the voluntary/community sector, and caseworkers in refugee integration.
