摘要

This chapter delves into the complex interrelationships among sleep, aging, and inflammation, illuminating the physiological mechanisms that link these core facets of human health. People’s sleep patterns become more noticeable as they get older, with modifications to their circadian rhythms and sleep architecture. The reciprocal relationship between inflammation and sleep is given a lot of attention. The common chronic inflammation associated with aging is examined in conjunction with how sleep affects immune responses, possible consequences for age-related health conditions, and how disturbed sleep can lead to altered inflammatory cytokines. In addition to providing insights into the potential significance of prioritizing sleep for optimal well-being in the aging population, it is essential to present a thorough overview of the relationships between sleep, aging, and inflammation.
