Lamb Head as a Training Model for Septorhinoplasty
摘要
All teachers and trainees should work on anatomical models to practice before doing any kind of surgery or applying a technique. The gold standard to learn and teach rhinoplasty and septoplasty is to work on human cadavers. However, it has become extremely expensive and difficult to reach them. Therefore, there is a quest for a surgical model to replace human cadavers. Lamb head is being used to teach septoplasty and rhinoplasty to fellows, residents, and colleagues with success for more than 4 years by us. Lamb head is very cheap, found easily in butchers. There is no need for special permission, laboratory, and preparation. In this chapter, the technique of using lamb heads for structural and preservation rhinoplasty is presented.
