The Role of Land Use Diversity and Vitality in the Urban Systems Organization. The Case Study of Baghdad Al - Karkh

摘要

The robustness of a given urban system is empowered by the balance of basic land uses, identity, and structure. Furthermore, land use organization significantly determines well-organized and efficient urban systems. Land use diversity is a key parameter of urban systemization as it provides data on the diverse intra-system uses and services, and it measures inter-land use consistency. Vital urban systems are also linked to a balanced combinability of different land uses, enabling them to meet challenges by Different land use and unifying distribution. Any neglect of the land use in the analysis of urban systems may make these systems vulnerable to consumption or isolation from other urban areas, which makes the system unable to coexist or compete with urban harmony. Hence the problem of research in “Ambiguity of knowledge about the influence of land uses and their diversity in determining the degree of vitality of the urban system and the extent of its ability to self-organize” Accordingly, this paper highlights the role of land use diversity in keeping urban systems vital and regular by examining how impactful such diversity is in the self-regulation of Vital urban system For this purpose, the paper Suppose that “Increased land use diversity affects the preservation of the efficiency and vitality of the urban landscape, enhancing its ability to coexist and persist over time.” The paper aims to determine how efficient the urban systems are in obtaining higher land use organization and their vitality based on mixed-use and land use diversity. To this end, a quantitative-distributional methodology has been followed using the Gini-Simpson Index. The data chosen for analysis included the urban system of Baghdad's Karkh. The 0-to-1 index indicated the dynamics of the area's vitality and land use to identify highly organizational systems.
