Health Record Storage and Accessing System Using Blockchain
摘要
With ever- increasing Electronic Health Records (EHRs), the handling of sensitive patient information has been a concern in the healthcare industry. Proper storage and privacy measures are crucial for handling the Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Identity- thefts, data stealing and authentication breaches are some of the major shortcomings in today’s digital world. Additionally, the threat of a single point of failure also comes to light over the existing centralized systems. To address these issues, secure and reliable systems like Blockchain offers a potential solution. Hence, in order to store, access, manage and secure the Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Ethereum Blockchain is used along with the Merkel tree which helps for effective storage and safe authentication of huge amounts of information. It also helps in examining the verifiability of the patient records which is stored on the distributed ledger i.e., Ethereum. Furthermore, a User Interface (UI) is also incorporated to make the system interactive and patient- friendly.
