Iot4Irrigation - Integrating IoT and Machine Learning for Low-Cost Sustainable Agriculture

Methods in precision irrigation such as predictive irrigation recommendation systems has become a critical part for efficient water management in agriculture. Our work presents a new approach for machine leaning based predictive irrigation. Notably, the primary focus lies on the development and implementation of irrigation recommendation with non-sophisticated data source which results from our goal of very low cost deployment in India and other developing nations. Our experiment shows a successful implementation for Arabidopsis thaliana and we expect it to work on average topical corps. Lastly, we offer some insights into prospective avenues for future research and development in the domain of predictive irrigation recommendation systems.
