SmileScan - Predictive Dental Detection

In underserved rural areas, residents encounter significant barriers to accessing dental care due to financial constraints and geographical isolation, resulting in untreated oral health issues. The solution aims at addressing this critical problem by developing a user-friendly and cost-effective system. The proposed system employs a camera to capture oral images and utilizes advanced machine learning models to detect common oral health problems, including cavities, plaque, gum inflammation, and more. To ensure accuracy and provide personalized recommendations, the system incorporates problem-based questionnaires and integrates expert dental consultations through a dedicated dashboard. By streamlining the dental evaluation process, this work seeks to improve oral health outcomes for rural populations with limited access to traditional dental care, offering a promising avenue for better oral health in underserved communities.
