Cultural Creative Enterprises for Local Sustainable Development

  • Gaia Daldanise

摘要

In the international scenario, cultural heritage and culture have assumed a strategic role within theories, policies, and projects for sustainable development (European Commission, 2018; UNESCO, 2019). New initiatives such as the New European Bauhaus strongly emphasize the role of culture and creativity in promoting experimentation in public spaces to build a sustainable and inclusive future (European Union, 2021). In national and international policies emerges the key role of Cultural and Creative Enterprises (CCI), a growing sector that aims at the development, in Italy and abroad, of cultural heritage and creative productions of excellence as pivotal elements of the national economic growth. Furthermore, cultural and creative planning (Anderson & Chung, 2011; Evans & Foord, 2008) is an inclusive consultation process and simultaneously a decision-making process that supports institutions and organizations to rethink how cultural resources can strategically help a community in achieving its civic and sustainable development goals (United Nations, 2015). From this perspective, the paper aims to examine the trend of the cultural and creative sector, particularly Made in Italy, and its role in community engagement for local sustainable development.
