Slow Tourism in Bassa Valle d’Aosta: Proposals for Enhancing Natural and Cultural Heritage
摘要
In recent years, we are witnessing a diffusion on a different scale of the so-called slow tourism, a tourist practice that pays increasing attention to issues of environmental sustainability and that focuses on making the holiday a moment of personal and cultural growth. The territory of the Bassa Valle d’Aosta, in Northwestern Italy, is currently a non-flourishing economic reality, with an industrial past and in search of a new identity. This contribution intends to demonstrate, through the NODES project, how this territory could benefit from forms of tourism with a low anthropic impact that combine sport and tourism, valorisation and promotion of the historical, cultural and landscape heritage aimed at fostering the economic development and well-being of the local community.
