Writing the Self: In the Spirit of Decolonisation Through Autoethnography
摘要
This chapter reflects on the ways Maya, a migrantised feminist whose origins are in the Global South, comes to challenge and reflect upon colonial legacies and hegemonic structures through her everyday lived experiences, her activism and her writings in a transnational context. This chapter specifically shows how Maya engages in multiple networks, collectives and resistance movements in pursuing a decolonised and feminist way of being. While there have been many theoretical debates and discussions about decolonial feminism, there is little discussion of the practices of decolonial feminisms as an aspect of people’s lived experiences. Through Maya’s transnational and migratory experiences, this autofiction shows that decolonial feminism needs to be understood as a form of resistance against coloniality as well as patriarchy, racialisation and neoliberalism, none of which can be separated from each other, and that these struggles emerge not in solitude, but rather in collective formations which strive for emancipation.
