摘要

Abandoned historical buildings have been recognised as a key resource for territorial development through conscious conservation processes. The issue of finding an appropriate use for abandoned heritage is increasingly urgent, however it could become a development opportunity through the reuse, recovery, restoration, regeneration of ‘wasted’ resources in the perspective of the circular economy. According to this perspective, a specific reflection is proposed through the analysis of case studies related to the reuse of large former convents abandoned in the city of Salerno. This project was developed in Horizon 2020 CLIC project, with the aim to realize an innovative model for the adaptive reuse and regeneration of cultural heritage in the perspective of the circular economy The main objective of the adaptive reuse project was to implement a participatory co-design process supported by multi-criteria and multi-dimensional evaluation tools, identifying new uses able to restore social vitality and centrality to this place.
