Bridge Seismic Evaluation Through Processing Techniques and UAV Photogrammetric Investigation

摘要

This study proposes an innovative rapid seismic assessment method based on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in civil engineering, effectively integrating the discipline of Civil Engineering Systems. Through aerial photogrammetry with UAV drones, data is acquired to generate 3D models of structures using computer vision algorithms. The process involves extracting key bridge parameters through image segmentation or point cloud techniques, thus linking structural analysis to the complex dynamics of civil engineering systems. Determining the fragility curve provides a clear perspective on infrastructure vulnerability. The variables considered, divided into visible and hidden, reflect the capability of aerial photogrammetric survey using UAV. Using images of a bridge in the Province of Reggio Calabria, the 3D model is used to extract the necessary variables, offering a tangible contribution to the field of Civil Engineering Systems. This research provides an integrated and advanced approach for rapid seismic assessment, responding to the complex challenges of infrastructure maintenance in an ever-changing context.
