In the context of this evolution, this article delves into the integration of drones into the Internet of Drones (IoD), an extension of the Internet of Things (IoT). We examine how the IoD enhances the capabilities of drones, enabling them to play a pivotal role in various applications, from advanced surveillance to delivery services. However, this integration is not without challenges, particularly in terms of security, as it exposes drones to a broader spectrum of cyber threats. The paper addresses the essential security requirements for IoD systems, proposes an in-depth classification of potential attacks, and explores innovative security solutions to counter them.
