Online Learning, and the Evolution of Conceptions About “Human Reproduction”: Fourth year Secondary School Students’ Case
摘要
The study delves into the didactics of biology, focusing on human reproduction, and examines the potential of digital educational technology in teaching. The experiment assesses the impact of online learning on the conceptions of Tunisian learners in 4th-grade experimental sciences. Two groups are formed, each consisting of 10 learners, one of which received face-to-face instruction in a regular classroom, while the other received online instruction through a private educational platform, “TakiAcademy”, with the same teacher. The methodological approach relied on a questionnaire, and the results show conceptual developments in both groups, but they are more pronounced in the online group due to tailored learning paths, communication tools, organized educational resources, live sessions, and synchronous discussions orchestrated by the teacher. The study also highlights some persistent limitations regarding conceptions related to embryonic development stages and monospermy. Despite its advantages, online teaching is considered a supplement, emphasizing the importance of an integrated approach for an optimal educational experience.
